Chiropractic adjustments address the bones and joints of the spine to restore mobility and proper alignment to the joints. Physiotherapy focuses on the soft tissues associated with those joints. Especially at the beginning of care, physiotherapy is just as important as the adjustment. That’s because we can adjust your spine to be in perfect alignment, but if the muscles and soft tissues aren’t addressed, they will continue to pull the spine back out of alignment.
We offer our Chiropractic Worx patients a variety of services to help heal and retrain the soft tissues so that adjustments can hold better and the body can heal. Dr. Sherman will create a care plan specifically for your needs and goals, and he will explain the purpose of any therapies he recommends. He is a no-nonsense doctor, and he will tell you up-front which therapies you need to get better—and he’ll never recommend anything you don’t need.
New Patients
Electric muscle stimulation (e-stim): reduces inflammation and spasms, promotes blood flow and healing, helps adjustments hold longer
Massage: releases muscles and deep tissues to decrease inflammation and spasm
Decompression: creates space between vertebrae to allow discs to heal and relieve pressure on the nerves
Ultrasound: breaks down scar tissue to release trigger points and ease spasms
Cold Laser/Low Level Laser Therapy: Increases healing rate, decreases inflammation, and can used on many different conditions
Dr. Sherman also incorporates various manual therapies, trigger point therapy and neuromuscular re-education to help soft tissues heal, strengthen and stabilize so that they can support the spine as they should.
When the soft tissues are working optimally, the mobility and alignment that chiropractic adjustments create in your spine will last longer. By relieving the pressure on your nervous system in this way, your body can heal and you can get back to doing the things you love to do—without pain.
